Athlon 64 3500/6600 GT
PCI-Express System

Overview and Features
This system is designed to be an excellent, all-purpose, family computer. It's attractive exterior and quiet operation allow it to fit in just about anywhere in the home. It is built around the latest motherboard design and supports PCI-Express; so, this system is ready for this new development in computer technology. It uses the 90 nm version of the Athlon 64 processor, which consumes less power and produces less heat than the 130 nm version of this same CPU. Coupled with AMD's "Cool 'n' Quiet" technology and a large, temperature-controlled, heatsink and fan, this processor lends itself well to quiet operation. An oversized heatsink and fan on the video card also contribute to this system running much more quietly than comparable systems.
These quiet tendencies do not mean this system lacks power when it comes to performance. The 2.2 GHz Athlon 64 CPU is very capable of handling even the most processor intensive tasks, and 1 gigabyte of PC3200 memory gives it plenty of elbow room for working with very large files. The 6600 GT video card is fully capable of playing all of today's computer games without needing to compromise on the graphics settings or the resolution that the game is played it. This is important, since the 19 inch LCD included with this system has a native resolution of 1280x1024, and these LCD monitors always look their best when run at their native resolutions.
A 120 GBs of hard drive storage, along with a DVD burner, means that you can find a place for all your data, even if plan on installing a lot of programs or building up a large collection of media files. This system supports USB 2.0, Firewire, SATA, and RAID; so, there is plenty of room for future expansion and adding peripherals. For added convenience, the Cooler Master case has two front USB ports and one Firewire port, and the Dell monitor has four powered USB ports available on it, too.

Heatsink Details

Above, the Arctic Cooling Silencer 64 Ultra temperature controlled heatsink compared to the stock heatsink that comes with the retail Athlon 64 3500. With it's larger heatsink and fan, which is temperature controlled, the Arctic Cooling model is much quieter than the stock heatsink, and it keeps the processor just as cool. This model even comes with a LED in the fan.
Shown above is the Zalman VF700 AlCu video card heatsink installed on an XFX 6600 GT. The fan is much larger than that found on the stock heatsink, which means that it can run more slowly and quietly, while still being very effective.
